AI for CAD

AI that actually understands CAD: reads native geometry, finds and reuses parts, inspects assemblies, and generates editable, standards-compliant models.

Compatible with SolidWorks, Onshape, CATIA, and Inventor. SOC 2 certified.

Can AI really do CAD?

Yes, but the answer depends on what you mean. Plenty of tools generate meshes from text prompts; those are fine for visual concepts and useless for engineering. Real AI for CAD has to work with parametric, editable geometry: feature trees, constraints, tolerances, and assemblies that a mechanical engineer can open, modify, and release to manufacturing.

Leo generates accurate, standards-compliant CAD assemblies, not meshes. Describe a design like a piston-cylinder assembly, and Leo finds the relevant guidelines and formulas from trusted sources, runs the calculations, asks clarifying questions, and outputs an editable 3D assembly with a full part tree and feature tree.

AI that reads your existing CAD, not just generates new files

Most of the value of AI in CAD work is not generation, it is retrieval and reuse. Your organization already designed thousands of parts. The expensive mistake is designing them again. Leo reads native CAD across your PLM and PDM systems, so engineers can search by shape, function, or plain language and find the part that already exists, along with the reasoning behind it.

Leo also inspects assemblies: it understands mates, interferences, and design intent, and answers questions about any model in your vault, whether it lives in Windchill, Teamcenter, Onshape, or SolidWorks PDM.

Sketch to CAD, text to CAD, and where they fit

Text-to-CAD and sketch-to-CAD are the fastest-moving areas of AI design tooling. Used well, they turn hours of modeling boilerplate into minutes of review. The bar to clear is always the same: the output must be editable, parametric, and compliant with your standards, otherwise you have a rendering, not a design. Leo's generation is built around that bar, producing assemblies your team can actually take to release.

Built for enterprise CAD environments

Leo works with the tools your engineers already use: SolidWorks, Onshape, CATIA, and Inventor on the CAD side, and Windchill, Teamcenter, and Onshape on the data side. It is SOC 2 certified and GDPR compliant with zero training on your data. Engineering teams at HP, Scania, and leading manufacturers use Leo to make their CAD knowledge searchable and reusable.

"It's been great to see the power of Leo AI's engineering being used by Onshape by PTC customers! And it's only going to get better with upcoming direct integration between our systems."
